Brandy Grande Fine Collector's Edition - Metaxa

 Metaxa is the most famous Greek brandy. It is made by double distillation in a pot still from Savatiano, Sultana, and Black Corinth grapes, combined with Muscat wines from Limnos and Samos and a blend of aromatic herbs. Metaxa Grande Fine Collectors Edition is a blend of brandies aged in oak barrels for 8-15 years, presented in a porcelain bottle hand-decorated by Greek designer Rodanthi Senduka with the classic Greek colors: white and blue.

 Tasting Notes: On the nose, it has a soft bouquet characterized by delicate and finely balanced notes of vanilla, dried fruit, and wood. On the palate, it is extremely smooth and elegant with hints of oak, cedar, raisins, honey, vanilla, and tobacco.

 The Distillery: The history of Metaxa originates from the ingenuity of Spyros Metaxas, who together with his brother emigrated to Piraeus in 1870, starting to produce highly commercially successful liqueurs and overcoming all the adversities that over time loomed over the trade of his liqueurs, such as Prohibition and wars.
