Old English Gin - Hammer Sons LTD


Old English Gin is produced by Hammer & Son according to an ancient recipe from 1783 and proposes the original style of English gin. It is made using eleven herbs, one of which is kept secret, and is distilled with the oldest still in use in England. It is contained in recycled champagne bottles, as happened at the time when England was the largest importer of Champagne and this custom was in vogue. Each bottle is sealed with natural cork and organic wax.

Tasting Notes: Transparent to the eye, scented with juniper, musk, wood and hazelnut. Soft and citrus taste on the palate, with a long and spicy finish.

The Distillery: Old English Gin is produced by the Hammer & Sons distillery. The history of English gin dates back to 1690, when English soldiers returned from war against the Germans in the Mediterranean. The soldiers returned home bringing with them a drink that became very popular among their ranks.
