Ua D'Oro Dorona No Filtrà IGT - Biniola
Ua D'Oro Dorona No Filtrà is an authentic, artisanal expression of the Venetian Dorona, an ancient lagoon grape variety recovered after centuries of near-extinction. The vines grow in the brackish soils of the islands of the Venice Lagoon, where their roots penetrate deep into the mineral-rich, sandy soils. The "No Filtrà" version was created with the goal of fully preserving the character of the grape variety and terroir: the wine is unfiltered, thus preserving all of its substance, aromatic complexity, and the original identity of the Dorona.

On the palate, it is full-bodied and structured, with a pronounced savory character and a mineral texture that accompanies a long, persistent finish.
Pairings: Ideal with grilled fish, shellfish, seafood risotto, and traditional Venetian dishes. It also pairs well with fresh cheeses and Mediterranean vegetable dishes.
The Winery: Recently founded on the Isola delle Vignole in the Venice Lagoon, the Biniola Agricultural Company aims to revive the area's ancient winemaking tradition. The company's name refers to the current Isola delle Vignole, which was once known as Biniola or Isola delle Sette Vigne (Island of the Seven Vines), and which was popular with the Venetians and likely even the ancient Romans as a holiday destination. At that time, it was directly bordered by the Adriatic Sea, as the Punta Sabbioni coastline had yet to fully develop. The island is located northeast of Venice, between Sant'Erasmo and Certosa. It is actually made up of two subunits separated by a canal and connected by a bridge. Like nearby Sant'Erasmo, the sparse population is engaged in horticulture.
